One More Sleep

I am happy to be traveling with Wendell and Nora James.  They both visited Rwanda last year to meet with friends about Microfinancing and Nora was part of a youth conference in Cyangugu in 2015.  So, I am dependent on their expertise.  We are flying to Montreal and Amsterdam tomorrow and Kigali on Tuesday.

This morning we received prayer and many words of encouragement at St. Paul’s.  God has indeed gone before us and prepared the way for us.  Lori Calkins had a gem in her sermon, I plan to keep handy.  When things look bleak, we have two choices. We can react in fear or ask, “What if God is in the midst of this?”  I am planning to choose the latter, which she described as, the road less traveled.

I still have a very long list which includes buying a hat and toothpaste.  Nora and Wendell are picking me up in the morning.

Here are our team prayer requests:

Please pray for the Lord’s guidance for the team and all those attending the mission.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will be in control and fit all things together into His perfect plan.

Pray for all flight connections and for luggage to arrive at the final destination.

Pray for good health and safety in travel in Rwanda.

Pray for the youth as they return to their churches and communities and that God will enable them to lead and help others to grow.  That they will become servant leaders in their communities.

Pray for spiritual protection while in Rwanda and for a time after our return.

It is prayer that will get us through the missions and the Lord’s will accomplished

  1. Praying for you guys. Feeling good about this, only concern in my heart is Nora’s health. We could not be at the 10:30 as we had family commitments, we would have appreciated a chance to pray in person. My concern is not major or I would have sent something before you left. Still just a caution to listen to God and your bodies. Jesus says “Remember I am the strong one. Just bring the five loaves and two fish!”

  2. Well, I know you are about 8 hours ahead of us so, all being well, you should be at Solace Ministries guest house heading to bed. One usually sleeps not to badly the first night, just out of sheer exhaustion, after two days of flying. You are in our prayers. Take it easy.
